While both residential land surveyors and general surveyors use sophisticated technology, such as GPS and Total Stations, residential land surveyors often specialize in tools and methods that are optimized for residential land analysis, including property boundary lines and smaller land parcels. General surveyors may use more industrial-grade equipment suited to larger projects, such as drone mapping and geospatial data collection for vast land areas.
